About the Item

A graceful wall-mounted console table in beech wood with a rounded top, Italian craftsmanship, 1950s. Elegant and as lightweight as a painting hanging on the wall or an airy organic sculpture, this console embodies an aesthetic approach, often referred to as Neoliberty, that influenced Italian furniture design between the 1940s and 1950s. The lines that became iconic and established new design paradigms are exemplified by the works of Ico Parisi, the Italian architect with a distinctly recognizable style. The tabletop is supported by curved uprights that gently rest on the floor, connected by a sculpted stretcher. The entire structure radiates tension and dynamism, thanks to the varying sections of the wooden elements, whose organic forms evoke the natural world, reminiscent of tree branches that have grown slowly over time. This piece is ideal for furnishing an entryway or pairing with a large mirror, perhaps one with a brass frame, a practical solution to add light to a space. Original to its era, the console has undergone meticulous restoration. Dimensions: 118W x 30D x 93H cm
