About the Item
An elegant and most decorative Continental 19th century Louis XVI st. patinated Wood, Giltwood and marble console. This stunning freestanding console is raised by four fluted patinated Wood legs with Giltwood trim leading up to square blocks decorated with Giltwood rosettes. The legs are joined by a curved stretcher, which is centered by a large and richly detailed urn and eternal flame finial. From the stretcher rise four fluted tapered legs featuring Giltwood acanthus leaf reserves at the top and finished with gadrooned Ionic capitals. The console's light grey patinated Wood apron is framed by rosette blocks and is centered by a lovely Giltwood bow tied ribbon and laurel leaf reserve on a diapered pattern background. The beautiful white Carrara marble top is carved to follow the contours of the console and is finished with a cove edge detail.
