Experience timeless elegance with the Havana console table, a masterpiece crafted from ebonized solid sapele mahogany. The sculpted and bowed stretcher gracefully supports a floating top, veneered with a uniquely selected figured sapele mahogany swirl arranged in an Asian cracked ice pattern. This intricate veneer is thoughtfully cut and pieced together to create a one-of-a-kind design, inspired by traditional Asian motifs. Finished with cerused lime wax, the rich, organic patterns on the tabletop beautifully contrast the table’s structured base. Every element of the Havana console table is expertly shaped, joined, and finished, resulting in a harmonious and sophisticated piece perfect for any refined space.

Bespoke Furniture for Considered Interiors Thomas Throop is a furniture designer-maker and founder of Black Creek Designs, specializing in bespoke furniture for high-end residential interiors. Since 1992, the studio has collaborated with interior designers and private clients to create custom, made-to-measure pieces that are architecturally informed, refined, and enduring. Each piece is designed and fabricated in the Connecticut studio, allowing for a highly collaborative and flexible process from concept through completion. The Laguna series tables are some of my favorite and most challenging to build. Each base is unique as the process and resulting form is ultimately sculptural. The 1/2" thick tempered glass top is supported by a base made of walnut consisting of tapering arcs of varying size which intersect to form a dynamic structure.
The series works well with almost any shaped top be it glass, stone or solid wood. The Laguna series of tables makes the ultimate sculptural statement in any setting. Each table base is unique, comprising of a number of tapered arcs joined to create a structure with endless visual possibilities.
All the elements are shaped, joined and finished by hand so as to create a united design.

The Oriel III side table features a blackened solid ash base which has been burned in the traditional Japanese shou sugi ban technique. This technique when used on ash reveals the deep richness of the open grain and creates a unique black quality which is heightened by the hand rubbed oil finish. The cantilevered top and waterfall joined leg in highly figured elm complete the structure. The unique elm plank has been stabilized with the use butterflies. This is done on the underside so as to not impose on the character of the figured elm has been cerused to further highlight the grain that flows from top to leg. The heightened contrast is created both in color and in form. The mass of the black leg frame serves as a perfect balance to the the cerused and cantilevered top. The overall effect is a highly sculptural table that is ultimately very functional. Each element is selected, shaped, joined and finished so as to create a unified design.

This Novo Coffee table features a sublimely straight forward figured bubinga base supporting a 1/2" thick glass top. The design affords a clear top surface while offering display space below on the highly figured bubinga shelf. The supporting legs are tapered which is accentuated by tapered champers which lead the eye from the mass of the bottom to up the glass support points in a highly unique shape.
This is a very versatile design that can accommodate a variety of symmetrical shapes with corresponding lower shelf. These shapes include circle, square, oval and rectangle as shown. Matching side tables can also be made to any height utilizing the same design and structural language. The overall effect is a highly sculptural table that is ultimately very functional.
