About the Item

A handsome and high quality French 18th century Provincial Louis XV Period patinated Wood and Gris St. Anne marble console. This wonderful console table is raised on four elegant and slender tapered cabriole legs decorated with mottled edges which continue up and throughout the apron. The legs and apron are joined by an ancient woodworking technique called mortise and tenon joinery while displaying a bombee front decorated with a wonderful scalloped shape which is again repeated on the two sides. The upper portion of the warm ochre-red painted frieze leads to the rounded top edge which guards the fitted Gris St. Anne marble top.
