About the Item

A stunning and high quality French early 19th century Louis XVI st. Mahogany, Ormolu and white Carrara marble console. This wonderful demi lune shaped dessert console is raised on four fluted legs with Ormolu sabots which lead to Ormolu top caps below block rosettes and the lower display surface. The lower tier is surrounded by an elegant pierced Ormolu gallery. The fluted legs continue to the apron accented with large scale rosettes flanking the central drawer and two side drawers. Each drawer is fitted with a rectangular panel displaying a mottled and beaded Ormolu frame, and Ormolu keyhole escutcheon. Above is the mottled white Carrara marble top which follows the shape of the console.
