About the Item

A striking and very unique French 19th century Neo-Classical st. ebonized Fruitwood and Sainte-Anne des Pyrénées marble console. The freestanding console is raised by elegantly scrolled legs at the front with handsome paw feet and straight legs with mottled feet at the back each connected by a lovely bottom tier with a fine tied fluted ormolu band at the border. Above the front legs are remarkable pierced corner mounts flanking two drawers at the straight frieze decorated with finely detailed pierced ormolu keyhole escutcheons with beautiful cornucopias and palmettes with a tied fluted ormolu band. Above is the original Sainte-Anne des Pyrénées marble top with a unique and most decorative border with curved sides.
