About the Item
A 1940s French wall-mounted console, sourced in the South of France. Hand-wrought in iron, the sinuous frame unfurls in baroque scrollwork—each curve ending in gilt accents, burnished softly with age.
Above, a slab of richly veined marble in warm rose tones—threaded with ochre, ivory, and fine rust-hued veining—rests within the frame. The surface is gently honed, its soft sheen accentuating the depth of color. Rounded corners and a beveled edge echo the fluidity of the wrought iron below.
Slender in profile, it’s an elegant entryway piece—or a poetic punctuation along any wall.
Condition: Great vintage condition. The iron base features two screw holes for wall mounting and displays a natural, timeworn patina. There is a small chip along the back edge of the marble top, which is not visible when installed.
