About the Item

A stunning and most impressive Italian 18th century Baroque period polychrome, ormolu, and Brèche de Medicis marble console. The console is raised by striking cabriole legs with a beautiful and most decorative design with fine scrolled feet, large acanthus leaves, and richly carved blooming flowers. The pierced apron displays a spectacular design of large acanthus leaves, blooming flowers, and draped beaded bands centering charming and finely detailed cherubs holding berried laurel garlands. Above is the original rectangular Brèche de Medicis marble top with an exceptional and most decorative beaded ormolu band at the border. All original rich patina throughout.
