About the Item

A magnificent and extremely high quality Italian mid 18th century Venetian st. giltwood and Alabastro Fiorito marble console, circa 1740. The freestanding console is raised by beautiful slender cabriole legs with impressive scrolled feet, richly carved acanthus leaves, and lovely foliate carvings set on most decorative hammered backgrounds. The stunning pierced apron displays superb scrolled foliate movements centered by a striking seashell reserve. Above is the original exquisite Ababastro Fiorito marble top in a stunning and most decorative quarter veneered design and fitted within a triple mottled border. All original gilt throughout.
