About the Item

A striking Italian 18th century Louis XVI period giltwood and faux painted marble console. The freestanding console is raised by elegant tapered legs with fine reeded and half ball feet, and striking richly carved acanthus leaves. Above each leg are beautiful fitted geometric and foliate reserves flanking the straight apron decorated with most decorative alternating T shaped designs. Above is the original wonderfully executed faux painted marble top. All original gilt and patina throughout.
