About the Item

A wonderfully and most impressive Italian 19th century Polychrome, patinated Wood and Gilt console and mirror. The most unique mirror, with a curve top crown, is richly decorated with charming faux wood designs. The frame displays an exceptionally detailed variety of intertwined branches with grape clusters and grape vines. The frame surrounds the original mirror plate, and showcases all original finishes throughout. The console below is raised by a mottled patinated Wood base with a faux marble coved band before the simulated ground with leaves and two vertical stems of a vine. The intertwined vines display a colorful Polychrome finish with foliage and a central Gilt grape cluster amidst additional scrolled branches. Above is the intricately detailed faux painted Sienna marble top surrounded by a patinated Wood border and a Gilt bullnose edge. Wonderfully decorative and unique in design.
