About the Item

An impressive and large scale Italian mid 19th century Venetian giltwood and marble freestanding console. The console is raised by wonderful and richly carved scrolled legs with a recessed design and adorned with large acanthus leaf carvings. The scrolled X shaped stretcher is centered by an fine carved floral reserve. The impressive apron displays rich draped garlands of carved tassels centered by a pierced reserve with a burnished cabochon. Above is the original Arabescato marble top fitted within a mottled giltwood border. All original gilt.
