About the Item

This Swedish console retains its remarkable original painted pine base in dark blue, red, yellow, and white. Three front panels feature faded florals, birds, borders, and a central door with original wrought-iron hinges. The hand-painted monogram and date of 1849(?) are faintly visible. Heavy oak top shows slight bowing, age separations, gouges, cracks and stains from generations of use.  Restored and stable with age-appropriate wear to feet and frame. Door secures with an interior snap latch; no key present. This one-of-a-kind piece offers decorative appeal and functional storage—ideal as a console or television base. All scratches, cracks, dings, and age related separation are reflective of age and do not detract from the beauty nor function of this special console. Cracks and signs of dried old wormhole activity also seen along sides, etc. Please refer to professional photos for clear understanding of color, condition, and details; photo lighting, individual monitor display and home lighting all impact how item is viewed. Photos are part of item description, please ask questions or request additional photos of specific areas if needed.
