About the Item
An impressive pair of French Louis XIV style console tables, richly carved and retaining their original conforming marble tops, exemplifying the grandeur and architectural strength associated with the Louis XIV aesthetic.
Each console features a boldly articulated frieze centered by a finely carved trophy panel, framed by pierced rectangular motifs and flanked by classical ornamentation. Below, the apron is adorned with deeply carved garlands of flowers and foliage, swagged gracefully between the legs, lending movement and decorative richness.
The tables are raised on robust, turned and carved legs joined by an elegant stretcher centered with a lidded urn finial, a hallmark motif of Louis XIV design. The carving throughout is crisp and confident, reflecting high-quality workshop production intended for grand interiors.
