About the Item
Decorate two small corners or entry spaces with this elegant pair of wall-mounted consoles, crafted in France circa 1820. Each petite table is composed of a triangular body with a bowed front, resting on a single, hand-carved cabriole leg terminating in a paw foot over a circular plinth. The leg is adorned with a gilt bronze foliate mount at the shoulder, adding a refined touch of Empire elegance. Both tables are topped with their original curved grey marble surfaces, richly veined in white and black tones.
The pair is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, boasting a warm fruitwood structure beneath a rich walnut patina, and beautiful natural variations in the marble. These charming antique corner consoles would make a striking statement flanking a doorway or mirror in an entryway, hallway, or intimate salon.
