About the Item
A most elegant pair of French turn of the century Louis XVI st. giltwood and white Carrara marble consoles. Each wall mounted console is raised by lovely slender circular tapered fluted legs with fine topie shaped feet. Above each foot are block reserves connected by superb concave shaped stretchers and display a striking central urn with the eternal flame and lovely fluted designs. Above each leg are elegant block rosettes flanking an exceptional richly carved interlocking geometric pattern that extends along the demi lune shaped apron. Above are the original white Carrara marble tops with finely mottled borders. All original gilt throughout.
