About the Item

A striking pair of Italian 18th century Louis XV period giltwood and faux painted marble free standing Genovese consoles. Each beautiful console is raised by elegant cabriole legs with hoof feet and lovely foliate carved corner reserves. The lovely deep pierced arbalest shaped frieze displays with striking carved scrolled foliate movements. The faux painted marble tops display beautiful colors and is wonderfully executed. At the back of each console is a hidden drawer which the console would need to be pulled away from the wall to expose. All original gilt and patina throughout.
