About the Item

The top is of serpentine outline and raised on a graceful curved leg which has been embellished with Gilt bronze mounts which are elaborate and very well constructed. The legs are connected by an X-stretcher and end in gilt bronze sabots. The top is beautifully constructed in a parquetry and Marquetry work that is expertly crafted in an oystering pattern and technique that is rare. The edge Of the top has a gilt bronze band which surrounds the upper edge. Two drawers are below the top And have beautiful scrolling bronze mounts and handles.
