About the Item
This truly special one-of-a-kind console table of old growth reclaimed barn wood is designed, made, signed and dated by Robert Bristow in his Lakeville, CT studio workshop. It is called a "Tape Console" as he tests and finalizes the inlay striping design after laying it out with painter's blue tape. This helps get the line weights, proportions, negative spaces and dynamic direction correct. The resin inlay has been dyed to a translucent light lavender: the barn wood grain may be seen through this layer. Please note the reclaimed barn wood has knots, as well as former life nail and pin holes, which give the piece its own character and sense of history. The table knocks down to ship flat, with easy re-assembly. Though this table is unique, he is happy to take on commissions of similar tables in alternate sizes, wood species (white oak, walnut, maple), patterns, and dye colors.
