About the Item
An 18th century style Spanish Baroque console table with a demi-lune top and bold carved base. The top is crafted in a thick, hand-planed wood plank, retaining a deep, aged surface with beautiful wear and patination.
The base features exuberantly shaped legs with pronounced scrollwork, joined by carved stretchers in the same bold silhouette. The remnants of an old painted and gilt finish remain on the legs and stretcher, giving the piece a warm, rustic yet elegant character. The natural surface distressing, along with traces of gilding and pigment, highlight its age and history.
The demi-lune form allows this console to sit beautifully against a wall, while its sculptural base makes it an equally striking freestanding piece. Perfect for an entryway, dining room, or as an accent against stone or plaster walls in a Spanish Colonial, Mediterranean, or rustic European interior.
