Topped by a beautiful striated Flandres Rouge marble, this giltwood console from circa 1860 was hand-carved with Louis XVI style motifs. The one inch thick red, pink, beige, brown, and gray marble has a chamfered edge. It has been carved with two rectangular protrusions that align with the fluted legs below. The legs are adorned on the lower half by a leaf stalk with a curled tip above lanceolate cup feet, separated by a rectangular joint with a floret.
