About the Item

A very rare 19th Century well figured rosewood marble top console table of grand proportions, finely hand carved with beautifully rich patination and grain. This exceptional piece features a striking moulded, serpentine fronted Rosso Levante marble top of rectangular form above a deep frieze decorated profusely with a fabulous intricately detailed centred arrangement of motifs comprising of scrolls and richly trailing foliate. Raised above a pair of straight shaped supports to the rear and a pair of elegantly tapering, moulded cabriole legs to the fore featuring stunning carved foliate, scroll and sphere motifs united by serpentine shelved undertier with foliate detail, terminating on out-splaying scroll foot.
