Neal Aronowitz Design
Neal Aronowitz Art/Design was founded in 2014 and has earned international recognition for its sculptural approach to collectible furniture and lighting. Based in Portland, Oregon, the studio is dedicated to the design and fabrication of highly refined, hand-crafted works that sit at the intersection of art, architecture, and material innovation. Each piece is conceived as both a functional object and a sculptural form, with careful attention to structure, proportion, and material behavior.
Aronowitz’s debut piece, the Whorl Coffee Table, received international attention following its feature in Elle Décor and its People’s Choice Award at the AZ Design Awards. This work marked the beginning of the Concrete Canvas Collection, a body of work developed around a groundbreaking cement-based fabric that allows concrete to be shaped in fluid, gravity-defying ways.
The Whorl Console, the second major work in the Concrete Canvas Collection, received Interior Design Magazine’s Best of Year Award as well as a Gray Award for Product Design. The piece has since become a signature work of the studio and is held in private collections internationally. Subsequent works continue to explore material transformation. The studio continues to pursue iconic forms through rigorous material exploration, emphasizing craftsmanship, structural intelligence, and sculptural presence. Each work is produced in limited quantities or by studio commission, reflecting a commitment to quality and individuality.
