About the Item
An elegant pair of late Georgian English demi-lune console tables, crafted in mahogany around 1800. Each table features a demi-lune form with a simple veneered top over a shaped apron enriched with carved and painted floral medallions. The aprons are framed with reeded detailing that continues onto the tapering, fluted legs, a hallmark of the refined Neoclassical taste of the period.
The restrained ornament and graceful proportions make these tables versatile additions to both traditional and transitional interiors. They may be used individually as console tables in an entryway or living room, or paired together to create a circular center table. Their craftsmanship and subtle decorative touches reflect the influence of Robert Adam–inspired Neoclassicism, characteristic of late 18th- to early 19th-century English design.
