About the Item

Elegant writing desk with legs and frame in solid walnut, veneer teak wood the tops and partridge eye wood for the front drawer. Restored and wax-polished Measures cm: H 74, W 102, D 52 (H shelves 13cm). ABOUT ICO LUISA PARISI Ico Parisi was one of the influential designers who shaped the look of the 1950s. The Sicilian-born architect considered himself a Renaissance man, and he was prolific as a filmmaker and designer of furniture, glass, and jewelry. Alone or in collaboration with his wife, Luisa, a student of Gio Ponti, Parisi worked to create desks, chairs, and upholstered sofas in wood and metal for high-end clients. In pieces like his 1955 lounge chair, with its crimson or lime green upholstery and curvaceous wooden frame, Parisi’s work epitomizes the funky, modernist style of the early atomic age. ABOUT Brugnoli Mobili Cantù Brugnoli Mobili di Cantù is an important and famous workshop founded way back in 1934, an artisan company which since its origins has been committed to the creation of furniture with a new design, designed by important Italian and international architects, taking care of the executive quality and specificity in the use of materials: from the execution of wooden and metal inlays to the fusion of brass, from the use of precious and precious woods to the care and finishing of every single detail. For this reason his furniture is well quoted and widespread both in Italy, in Europe and in the United States, receiving the most important awards and recognitions in all national and international exhibitions of the decorative arts The Italian designer who worked the most for the Brugnoli company was Paolo Buffa, Ico e Luisa Parisi, Gio Ponti.
