About the Item
A superb Italian mid-century rosewood desk, attributed to Paolo Buffa (1903–1970), Milan. The piece is distinguished by its beautifully fluted Art Deco rosewood façade and thick raised glass top. The desk has three drawers, one large central desk drawer and a small cupboard. It also has open display niches and brass hardware on the cupboard and drawers. It was produced circa 1950, likely in collaboration with renowned Lombard ateliers noted for their high-quality finishes. The original rosewood features have been restored by Alessandro, our master restorer here in Florence. The original 1950s thick glass top has an extremely beautiful green hue in some lights.
