This is an antique estate manager's kneehole desk. A Scottish, golden oak and leather office desk, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900. Excellent late-19th century example, offering superb proportion, handsome colour and extensive practicality. A distinguished desk with strong study and library appeal. Select golden oak stocks present fine grain interest and warm caramel hues Displays a desirable aged patina, with gently time-worn surfaces Upper drawers set at the back of the desk adorned with brass gallery rails Quality leather skiver set within the top, embellished with gold tooling and embossed detail Suite of eleven drawers arranged across the frame, providing plentiful storage Each drawer fascia dressed with brass drop handles, the backplates featuring flowerhead relief Pinstriped oak fascia sit before quality mahogany drawer boxes Locks present at each drawer — untested, keys absent Generous kneehole offers comfortable accommodation for daily use Stands upon eight brass castors, aiding smooth movement and positioning This Scottish late Victorian kneehole desk offers charm, utility and exceptional presence — a classic piece of country house office furniture.
