About the Item

An 17-18th century antique desk. Likely Italian, but sourced in France. Solid oak with a marble inset top. An exceptional table with crafty hidden sliding storage, accessed by a thick high quality decorative key, which is matched by the internal lock. Once unlocked the top can be slid back to reveal the hidden storage, with the original alcoves and small drawers. Very practical even today but also perfect for story telling as every good antique should demonstrate. Remains in good antique condition. The lock was refurbished so it works.
