About the Item

An outstanding antique Victorian writing table / desk. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1840-1860 period. This is of wonderful quality and is a very useful size, with lovely proportions. It stands on beautifully turned and fluted legs, terminating in brass casters. There are two drawers with high quality detailed brass handles and fine, hand cut dovetailed joints. There is an inset leather top with gold tooled edges, the leather has a beautiful colour which compliments the wood nicely. We have had this recently re-polished, it is in excellent condition for its age, with a gorgeous all round patina.
