This piece was recently newly made in England and is ready for use in any office or home office space. Made by a third generation furniture maker using Old World techniques, this is a true piece of art. Signs of the care and skill that went into the creation of this writing table desk can be seen in the hand cut dovetails on the drawers, the gently tapered legs with fluted lines above, and the stunning finish. The finish is a hand rubbed, seven stage finish that ends in several coats of hand rubbed wax. The result of this time consuming and labor intensive process is a deep, lustrous finish that has an antique feel to it. This beautiful finish is probably the single most impressive part of the desk. Not far behind that is the stunning mahogany wood used in its creation. Providing the desk with a beautiful grain and color that is offset with cross banding, mahogany is an excellent choice for any room. The top surface has an inlaid panel of green leather with a gold tooled border. This traditional writing surface is a perfect work area. Each of the three drawers locks and keys are included. The central drawer acts as a normal drawer but also has the ability for the front to fold down in case you want to use it as a keyboard drawer. You will notice that this desk is finely finished on all four sides. The two short sides of the piece are decorated with a cross banding that match the front and top. The back is made with three faux drawers so it looks exactly like the front! A fully finished back is important for placing your desk in the middle of the room. Such a beautiful writing table desk will surely enhance any office or work area and bring a traditional yet stylish feel to any room. The measurement from the floor to the bottom of the desk is 25.13?.
