About the Item

This Danish mid-century modern writing desk dates from the 1960s and exemplifies the functional elegance and craftsmanship of Scandinavian furniture design. Constructed from solid teak wood and teak veneer with solid oak legs, the desk features integrated drawers and a cabinet on the working side, while the reverse side is open and fitted with a built-in shelf, allowing the desk to function as a freestanding piece within an interior. The open back construction provides additional storage and visual lightness, making the desk ideal for placement in the center of a room as well as against a wall. Professionally restored, the desk remains in very good vintage condition with light signs of age consistent with careful use. A refined and highly practical example of Danish mid-century modern furniture.
