About the Item

Designed in the 1960s by Egon Ostergaard, this desk was made by SMI, a somewhat nebulous figure in MCM production. We've had a number of SMI pieces, and the quality is always excellent. This desk is the same, with high-end teak construction, good quality locking mechanisms, and a generally sturdy build with a solid wood base and legs. Handsome drawer pulls, a spacious interior, and an extendable work surface make this piece super easy to use. Complete with pull out work-surface and key for the locks. Signed with original sticker and ink stamped. In very good vintage and original condition. Spacious and clean interiors, smooth functionality throughout, and structurally sound. You'll love this piece in your home. At time of listing, we have a pair of these that actually match quite well in color and condition. Let us know if you're interested in both.
