About the Item
A fine period Georgian (c. 1800-1820) Partner’s Desk with lighter tone mahogany and original green leather writing surface in a more diminutive size. On twin pedestals, each with four feet for a total of eight feet. The desk is a faux partners desk with faux drawers on one side and actual drawers to the opposite end. With long central drawer, and each pedestal having four drawers to each pedestal. All drawers with brass swing pulls and escutcheons but no keys present.
Dimensions: 47.75” wide by 26.25” deep by 30.75” high.
Condition: Please see detail photos. Various signs of age include stable splits to the interior drawers and a split to one end with wear to the leather top including scratching and sporadic finish losses and stable age splits to both sides all commensurate with age and usage. One side is significantly more sunned than the opposite end as one faced a window. Lacking a key and one pull on the main drawer is missing a back screw with the drawer also having a stable age split. All of the aforementioned is for accuracy as the presentation remains fine.
