About the Item
This striking cantilever executive desk by Georg Petersens epitomizes the refined simplicity of Danish Modern design from the 1960s. Crafted from solid teak, the desk showcases the wood’s warm, honeyed tones and exquisite grain, finished with a smooth, tactile surface that highlights its natural beauty. The minimalist cantilever base, with its clean lines and subtle angles, creates a floating effect, lending the piece an airy yet commanding presence. A trio of drawers along the front, each fitted with sculpted teak pulls, offers functional storage while maintaining the desk’s sleek aesthetic. The expansive, unadorned tabletop provides ample workspace, making this piece as practical as it is elegant. Perfect for a modern office or a collector’s curated interior, this desk exemplifies the timeless appeal of Scandinavian craftsmanship and mid-century innovation.
Georg Petersens Møbelfabrik, founded in the mid-20th century in Denmark, was a respected manufacturer known for its dedication to quality craftsmanship and Danish Modern design principles. Specializing in teak and rosewood furniture, the company collaborated with skilled designers to produce functional yet aesthetically refined pieces, such as executive desks and dining sets, that became emblematic of the era. Though not as widely recognized as some contemporaries, Georg Petersens contributed to the global popularity of Scandinavian design through their commitment to minimalist forms, superior materials, and meticulous joinery, leaving a lasting mark on mid-century furniture history.
With it's intricately carved cantilevered feet, superb joinery and stunning use of solid and matchbook veneered teak this splendid desk is a testament to Danish design and craftsmanship. Perfect for designers and collectors alike who are limited in space but unwilling to compromise on style and functionality this petite desk is ideal for apartments, studios and home offices. Make it yours today and elevate your office's aesthetics to new heights.

This iconic cantilevered writers desk by Georg Petersens is in original, vintage condition and aged to perfection! With that said the wood is in overall excellent shape showing no stains, gouges or other signs of wear whatsoever and the variegated woodgrains of the teak are absolutely stunning in natural light.
All three drawers open and close with ease and the desk remains perfectly balanced even with such an audacious shape and base.
This architecturally fascinating desk is functional, structurally sound and ready for a lifetime more of use. Please view all photos and video provided for details on this desk's current condition.
