About the Item

A French walnut desk from the early 19th century with three drawers, carved motifs, H-Form cross stretcher and nice patina. Created in France during the early years of the 19th century, this walnut desk features a rectangular top with nice aging and imperfections, sitting above three drawers. Their hand-cut dovetail construction reveals the piece's good age. These drawers showcase a thin narrow one in the center (the desk's knee height is 24"H) flanked by two taller ones of square shaped and adorned with carved floral motifs. The table is raised on four sturdy straight legs with cut-out angles, connected to one another through an H-Form stretcher strengthening the ensemble beautifully. Boasting a lovely patina, this French walnut desk circa 1800 will make for a wonderful addition to any home, particularly placed in a study or living room where it could be also used as a console table!.
