About the Item
This desk is a craft-handed reproduction of the French Directoire style at the end of the 18th century. The design of this period is remarkable with its straight, classical and timeless lines.
It is made exclusively 100% of French oak. The solid wood comes from sustainably managed French forests.
At the rear of the top of the desk are symbolized an inkpot hole (left) and grooves to place your writing nib (right).
The top offers a black leather pad, slides and opens to access to the drawer (see additional pictures).
The front drawer opens separately and the front assembly of the drawer is made with dovetails for a better resistance et durability.
The shelf between legs can be used for a printer or a personal computer tower.
The main finish is an "elefant grey" stain with a pearl grey lacquer for the back accessories: inkpot and writing nib receiver.

The manufacture of each furniture is made accordingly to traditional French techniques of woodworking by small craft workshops in the western countryside of France: Loire Valley and Bretagne.

MON PETIT MEUBLE FRANCAIS is a new brand launched in September 2018 by Eric Weiler (founder) and Eric Gizard (designer). We deliver 100% made in France high-end and top quality furniture pieces. Main material is wood, mainly ash, oak and cherry. Our wood comes exclusively from sustainably managed French forests. The craft-handed manufacture in the Loire Countryside and Bretagne ensures robustness and a very long life cycle for each piece. All our models are already fully assembled in our workshops. Eric Gizard is a famous French Designer in Paris and works several Fashion and Luxury Brands. He sublimates with his very fluid and elegant design each piece of our collections EGEE and KUBE. More over and previous to the launch of MON PETIT MEUBLE FRANCAIS, in 2010, Eric Weiler took over an old cabinet-maker named GONTIER established in France since 1920. French Traditional pieces and new designed models from GONTIER are also proposed on 1st Dibs.
This small Desk is also available in French solid cherry.
