About the Item
This desk with top storage compartments is a craft-handed re-interpretation of the French Directoire style at the end of the 18th century.
The design of this period is remarkable with its straight, classical and timeless lines.
It is made of solid French cherry wood. The sourcing of the solid wood comes from sustainably managed and PEFC certified French forests.
The height with the upper storage level is 91 cm / 35.8" and 76 cm / 29.9" for the leather pad writing panel
The main writing panel offers a vignetted black leather pad and slides to access to the drawer.
On top of it, the upper level offers 2 open niches.
A fake drawer front under the leather pad panel slides and gives acces to a drawer to store a laptop for instance.
The presented finish is made with a light grey lacquer.

The manufacture of each furniture is made accordingly to traditional French techniques of woodworking by small craft workshops in the western countryside of France: Loire Valley and Bretagne.

MON PETIT MEUBLE FRANCAIS is a new brand launched in September 2018 by Eric Weiler (founder) and Eric Gizard (designer). We deliver 100% made in France high-end and top quality furniture pieces. Main material is wood, mainly ash, oak and cherry. Our wood comes exclusively from sustainably managed French forests. The craft-handed manufacture in the Loire Countryside and Bretagne ensures robustness and a very long life cycle for each piece. All our models are already fully assembled in our workshops. Eric Gizard is a famous French Designer in Paris and works several Fashion and Luxury Brands. He sublimates with his very fluid and elegant design each piece of our collections EGEE and KUBE. More over and previous to the launch of MON PETIT MEUBLE FRANCAIS, in 2010, Eric Weiler took over an old cabinet-maker named GONTIER established in France since 1920. French Traditional pieces and new designed models from GONTIER are also proposed on 1st Dibs.
