This is a grand antique executive desk. An English, satinwood and mahogany 13 drawer office desk, dating to the mid Victorian period, circa 1860.
Exceptional quality and proportion to this superb Victorian desk.
Displays a desirable aged patina and in very good order.
Satinwood stocks present striking grain interest and rich russet hues.
Graced with thirteen exceptional quality, thick mahogany drawer boxes.
Charming arcading adorns the upper drawer section with shelf to centre.
Usefully sized desktop with gently tiered edge moulding.
Front fascia hosting three drawers with carved foliate relief decoration.
Each pedestal with a further three drawers and dashing leaf corbel mounts over fluted stiles.
Each drawer dressed with brass drop handles over shaped, pierced backplates
Nine lower drawers secured by matched and working brass-lined locks — key present
Quality finish to the back, with full panelling
The whole raised upon a pair of continuous plinth feet
