About the Item

This elegant tripod desk by Jacques Adnet dates from the 1950s and exemplifies refined French modernism. Crafted in oak with a lightly satin varnish, it features a minimalist silhouette combined with practical functionality. The desk includes a drawer with its original key, both in perfect working condition. Its sculptural three-legged base and integrated storage make it both visually light and highly usable. The model is referenced in the French magazine Votre Maison in 1955. Jacques Adnet (1900–1984) was a leading French modernist designer known for bridging traditional craftsmanship with modern design principles. He played a key role in shaping mid-century French interiors through his elegant use of noble materials and clean lines. Adnet became particularly renowned for his furniture designs that balanced luxury, functionality, and innovation. His work remains highly collectible and influential within the canon of 20th-century design.
