About the Item

Late 19th-century Swedish pine desk with an old black painted finish that has been distressed over time. The desk features elongated carved cabriole legs and three functional drawers. Locks and key are present, though operation may be stiff. The desktop shows extensive age-related wear, including old cracks, nicks, gouges, and visible repairs consistent with long use. The central drawer curves downward, with a floor-to-skirt height of approximately 23¾ inches. While old, the paint is not original to the desk. Restored, strong, and stable, this desk is ready for use as a writing desk or workspace, offering classic Swedish proportions with a timeworn painted surface and graceful leg form.
