About the Item

Christies label- London, 1994. A finely made French 18th c. writing table with ormolu mounts and beautiful variegated marble top. The three fine drawers with shaped front inlays and thin banded edges. Ormolu cartouche escutcheons (lacking a key). The top drawer with a gilt tooled brown leather writing surface on the left and small compartments on the right side. The shaped marble top with ormolu banded edges. The tall cabriole legs with large baroque leafy ormolu mounts and sabots. The sides with book matched shaped panels. Requires Restoration. Dimensions: W. 16", Depth 12 1/2", H. 30 1/4" To Condition: Restoration recommended. Please see detail photos. There are chips to drawer edges, expected old stable age cracks here and there, many losses to all leg veneers, darkened mounts, some breaks to top drawer compartments however the piece retaining an incredible presentation.
