About the Item
A French bleached and painted wood desk with drawer, by furniture maker Auffray
Co., from the mid 20th century. This mid-century table from France features an overall rectangular shaped top with rounded corners, atop the apron which houses a long drawer about one side- which is somewhat discreetly hidden within the frieze which has a lovely sunflower motif about the center of each long side. The skirt is beautifully scalloped along all four sides. The table is raised upon four slende cabriole legs, with carved accents about the knees and feet. This wood has a bleached finish with a complimentary cream tone abou the top, and a light wash about the accent trim. Leg clearance between the floor and apron is approximately 23.5 inches. This mid-century French desk is approximately 4.25 feet in length, and with all sides carved and embellished, would make this piece a great option to be floated within a room.
