About the Item

This nineteenth century French Louis Philippe period walnut desk features a gold tooled green leather top. Two drawers of dovetail construction fit into the apron on either side of the kneehole. The upper drawers are appointed with bronze drawer pulls and the lower drawers are fitted with bronze escutcheons and each open using its own key. The desk rests on classic turned legs. The kneehole measures 21.5 inches wide and from floor to tabletop measures 28.5 inches high. With warm rich tones, this handsome desk would be a handsome and functional addition to any interior. includes two keys. c. 1830-1848.
