About the Item

Rare and impressive mid century modern executive desk attributed to Claudio Olivieri and Renato Angeli. Italy 1950's. The desk is entirely made of lacquered dark wood and massive brass. The rectangular top features four smoothly shaped edges. The front of the desk includes three elegant drawers offering generous storage space for documents and stationery. The massive brass stretcher system consists of angular shaped brass bars, arranged in a geometric, almost architectural support structure. This allows for a perfect connection with the wooden structure and for great stability of the desk. The desk sits on four conical shaped copper feet adjustable in height. Renato G. Angeli, worked as an interior and display designer and opened a studio together with Italian architect and designer in 1954.
