About the Item

Travel desk made with Sevres style porcelain plates, with mercury gold plated bronze mount. The piece is in a late 19th century Napoleon III style. The upper part is inclined and has a painting with a design corresponding to a period after the Boucher painter, with the motif of two courting couples sitting in front of a stream. On the sides, it has garlands of flowers within golden frames. The rim is cast with a band of foliate garlands tied with ribbons, raised on two tupies, two female feet, and the interior lined in red velvet. The desk includes two glass inkwells with brass lids.
