Paolo Piva for B&B, executive desk model 'Arcada', stainless steel, burl, leather, glass, brass, Italy, 1985
This rare desk is designed by Austrian-Italian architect and designer Paolo Piva (1950-2017) for B&B Italia. The main desk is combined with a little side table and a big round glass tabletop on the other side. But not only the combination of elements might surprise the user. Also the materials and textures are one of a kind. Firstly, the stainless steel is used for all constructive parts. Black leather is inlayed on the main tabletop and also highlights the front of the set of drawers. Both the drawer underneath the tabletop and the sides of the set of drawers show wonderful burl. This natural material contrasts strongly with the metal appearance. Last but not least the round top in glass adds another material and strengthens the design.
Please note that this item is in used condition with visible signs of age and use, including imperfections in the lacquer. Restoration is possible before shipping by our experienced craftsman and -women in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece retains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized restoration is possible as well.
