About the Item

Poul Kjærholm 'PK52' Professor Desk in Oiled Oak for Carl Hansen Son The story of Danish Modern begins in 1908 when Carl Hansen opened his first workshop. His firm commitment to beauty, comfort, refinement, and craftsmanship is evident in iconic pieces designed by such legends as Hans J. Wegner, Arne Jacobsen, Kaare Klint, Poul Kjærholm, Vilhelm Lauritzen and others. Now in its third generation as a family run business, Carl Hansen Son maintains its legacy through skillful work with the highest quality materials, sustainably producing Danish design classics by past icons and influential new designers. Poul Kjærholm designed the 'PK52' Professor Desk when the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts needed a number of tables for lecturers and students. Kjærholm developed a new table structure that showcased his mastery of both steel and wood. The tabletop is reversible, allowing the user to use one side for work and the other for meals or entertaining. The 'PK52' Professor Desk is also available in a more compact size as the 'PK52A' Student Desk. An optional drawer, available separately, in both desks offers elegant storage space, and both can easily double as dining tables. Please inquire regarding final pricing when ordering if drawer or other finishes are desired. Executed with a powder coated steel frame and solid oak top with oil finish. Price per item. Available in unlimited quantities. Choice of oak with lacquer, oil, white oil, or black painted finishes. Optional drawer module available upon request for additional fee. Prices vary. This listing is for the 'PK52' desk in oiled oak without drawer module. In stock lead time 4-5 weeks. Out of stock lead times can add an additional 8-10 weeks or more. Please note that lead times, cost and inventory availability are subject to change without notice and dependent on choice of finish and material ordered. For time sensitive orders, please contact us for current lead times prior to purchasing. Please note that due to the organic nature of the wood, slight variations in color or grain can occur and will vary from piece to piece. Swatches should be seen as a guide; samples may be available upon request. Kindly contact us for more information. Made to order. All sales are final.
