About the Item

Rococo Revival Oak Writing Desk in Brown, Early 20th Century This piece of furniture, made entirely of oak, dates from the 1st half of the 20th century. It consists of two drawers and a desktop that opens at an angle. The entire piece is supported by tall legs—cabriole in the front and straight at the back. Inside, the writing desk is divided by partitions into four small drawers, two on each side. The desk flap and the drawer fronts are adorned with semi-relief decorations featuring Neorococo motifs. Complementing the design are brass handles and keyholes finished with a patina. Both the drawers and the desktop are secured with a key. After restoration, the piece has been finished in wax.
