About the Item

This smaller Danish modern writing desk was designed ca. 1950 by Danish architect Ole Wanscher (1903-1985) and executed by manufacturer Fritz Hansen, Denmark. The model number is 1784. The frame is of mahogany and it has profiled tapered legs. There are two drawers on the front. The handles and fittings are of brass. One drawer stamped by maker FH (Fritz Hansen) and no. 2430. The desk is mentioned and pictured on page 30 of Fritz Hansens Eftf. Catalog No. 5101 from 1951.
