Drop-Leaf Desk / Dining Table in the Manner of Børge Mogensen and Hans J. Wegner. Denmark, 1960s.
A refined solid Oregon pine drop-leaf table, conceived as a journeyman piece in Denmark during the 1960s and designed in the manner of Børge Mogensen and Hans J. Wegner.
The table demonstrates a disciplined approach to material and construction, with careful attention paid to the layout and continuity of the pine grain across the top and leaves. The extendable leaf is ingeniously designed to be moved and used on either side of the table, allowing for flexible use as a compact desk or an expanded dining surface.
The solid pine has developed a warm, golden patina through years of use, lending depth and character to the surface. The table has recently received a light application of oil, enhancing the natural glow of the wood while preserving its original character.
Presented in good vintage condition, this piece reflects the Scandinavian emphasis on functionality, craftsmanship, and honest materials.
